Why open a spa in Second Life?

I have not only been asked this question but also asked myself this question. As many of you already know Second Life some way shape or form is parallel to our real lives. For many it is more eventful and can even produce more stress than the lives we live behind the screen.  I mean how many have been walking around the golden Linden streets and have been bumped, pushed or even caged? Yep, even my hand goes up. What about all the walking and flying and teleporting from sim to sim looking for the best sales or new hair and shoes? Ok.... so maybe thats not so much work on the body as it is on the bank account, but even avatars need a bit of pampering. The more I became in love with the idea of creating this spa the more I found myself researching and becoming more familiar with ways of pampering myself, even right in my very own home.  Besides coming to Serenity for excellent customer care with a well trained staff for massages, facials, pedicures and manicures it is also a place to educate yourself on some better techniques and products to use in your everyday real life. We have even teamed up with a real life skin care company that you can purchase products from through our store.

I have met many people from all over the world from all walks of life here in Second Life. If you take the time to truly speak and get to know the man or woman behind the avatar you may find  a person that maybe be going through a similar situation as you, or perhaps someone who needs reaching out.  Which is why  we have the wellness center. This will give anyone who has an interest to come and share life experiences past and present. Perhaps you are one going through cancer treatment or have gone through it. Have you ever thought how many here in second life maybe going through the same thing and truly feel they have no one to turn to? We want to encourage life and its happiness. The possibilities are endless in this life. You can hop from dance clubs from London to New York in less than 10 seconds. Have a whole years wardrobe with $20 US dollars. Once the computer goes off you are no longer Jonnybegood Jewell and Sexylady Alveraux. You are back to being James Parker and Kathy Johnson. A man and a woman who enters a virtual world for several hours where nobody knows of their daily struggles or even the ones you have overcome. I know many will read this thinking, " that is why I log on, so that I can be that person nobody knows or the person I wish that I were".  Though I hope those that read this will be more inclined to enjoy second life without the fear of revealing a bit of their real life.  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Alphaneumeric%20shores/158/159/25
